AMBER
Given that he essentially invented an entire genre with 1978’s Ambient 1: Music for Airports, the idea of being constantly on the move is baked into Brian Eno’s legend. Eno often says that he’s always making music so he doesn’t get much time to listen, but that all changes with his new Apple Music Chill radio show, AMBER. With each episode, listeners can hear some of Eno’s personal selections, including tracks from his exploration of ambient scenes in places like Europe and Asia. Sometimes when curating songs for the show, he leans into the power of Apple Music and its algorithms to discover music related to his picks, e.g. a favourite Korean film score, and dive even further into that world of sound. Eno’s hour of music will also include at least one exclusive new track from the composer using his legendary archive randomiser to generate new material from his huge archive of unreleased recordings.
